Story

Singer and songwriter Jeanna has always been fascinated by the stories hidden within history. In Crossing the Bridge of Time, she embarks on an ambitious musical journey that connects past and present, transforming real historical events and forgotten lives into contemporary songs.

Driven by curiosity and a deep emotional connection to the people behind the stories, Jeanna travels through archives, locations and personal histories in search of inspiration. Along the way, she discovers that the themes of love, loss, hope and resilience are as relevant today as they were centuries ago.

Beyond the music itself, the film offers an intimate portrait of a young artist finding her voice and defining her creative identity. As each song takes shape, Crossing the Bridge of Time explores how music can bridge generations, bring history to life and create meaningful connections across time.

Jeanna combineert historie en moderne pop op ‘crossing the bridge of time’

Dat is het moment dat ze tot laat in de nacht met veel bewondering gekeken naar de maanmissie Artemis II van NASA. ,,Het is super speciaal dat we na 50 jaar weer mensen naar de maan sturen! Het is dan ook onwerkelijk om te bedenken dat ik nog geen maand geleden een nummer heb uitgebracht dat deels gaat over de vrouw die de eerste maanmissie in de jaren zestig mogelijk heeft gemaakt, namelijk Katherine Johnson!

Wordt de geschiedenis bepaald door veranderingen in structuren, of of is “The History of the world but the Biography of great men”? Dat debat woedt al sinds de negentiende eeuw. Jeanna, afgestudeerd als historica, sluit hierbij aan op haar debuut-EP ‘Crossing the bridge of time’ met nummers over belangrijke individuen. Dat is, ongeacht haar positie in het debat, een verstandige keuze.
